UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside announces quarterly winners for excellence in patient satisfaction

Winners have been announced in the “Excellence … You’re at the heart of it all” quarterly service excellence recognition program at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside. The program recognizes physicians, staff, and units for achievements in providing outstanding patient care and service as reflected in Press Ganey scores and other criteria. Awards were announced on Nov. 30.

UPMC Presbyterian

  • Unit 7F: Pumping It Up award for most improved patient satisfaction. The unit increased “overall nursing” percentile ranking from the 4th percentile to the 93rd percentile.
  • Physician Group, 4D: The Pacemaker award for sustained achievement in patient satisfaction. This physician group maintained high 90th percentile rankings in the “Skill of the Physician” indicator for four consecutive quarters.
  • eRecord Team: Sparking Satisfaction award for special recognition in patient satisfaction. The team was recognized for its efforts to create a safe and efficient discharge document for patients, as well as efforts to improve core measure documentation.
  • Admissions Team: Helping Hands, Helping Hearts award for partnering in patient satisfaction. Unit 7F thanks this team for its highly effective efforts to improve patient satisfaction scores as demonstrated by an increased “overall admission” ranking from the 8th to the 97th percentile.

UPMC Shadyside

  • Hillman Cancer Center Radiology: Pumping It Up award for most improved patient satisfaction. The department increased “Response to concerns/complaints” from the 2nd percentile to the 94th percentile ranking.
  • Physician Group, 5 West: The Pacemaker award for sustained achievement in patient satisfaction. The physician group maintained high percentile rankings for “skills of the MD” for four consecutive quarters.
  • eRecord Team: Sparking Satisfaction award for special recognition in patient satisfaction. The team was recognized for its efforts to create a safe and efficient discharge document for patients, as well as efforts to improve core measure documentation.
  • Hillman Cancer Center, second-floor clinics: Helping Hands, Helping Hearts award for partnering in patient satisfaction. Hillman Radiology thanks the staff members in these clinics for partnering with them to streamline and improve the care for their patients.
